About Benissimo! Music Productions

Founded in 2004 by Ruth Moreland, Benissimo! Music Productions is a Texas non-profit corporation designed to produce various musical projects and ensembles. The first Benissimo project was the creation of Voci di Sorelle, a small professional a cappella group of women vocalists.  As the only ensemble of its kind in Texas, Voci di Sorelle succeeded in their mission to produce outstanding programming and performances that inspiried and nurtured an appreciation for the power, versatility, and beauty of women’s voices.  From the very beginning in December 15, 2003, the group consistently demonstrated the highest artistic standards and  singular focus.  In their eleven years of performing, the ensemble became notable for pure sound, seamless blend, and the ability to interpret an eclectic variety of music.

In 2010, Benissimo added a second a cappella vocal project, The Copperleaf Quintet, a five-voice mixed ensemble committed to presenting exceptional programming at the highest level of musical excellence.  The ensemble’s unique programming combines music with architectural and visual art. In their first three seasons Copperleaf has presented concerts at The McNay, San Antonio Museum of Art, Southwest School of Art, Mission San Jose, Mission Concepcion, and Chapel of the Incarnate Word.

2014 saw the addition of Benissimo’s newest group, BLUE PENNY, an acoustic American Roots duo that  debuted at Benissimo’s 2014 Christmas concert, and has since delighted audiences of all ages at local schools, retirement communities, and libraries.
